Most jurisdictions in North America teach six English/Language Arts strands, but most test only two: Reading and Writing.
Mr. English will teach your student the reading and writing skills that are often neglected. We will also teach strategies to cope with both of these skills on Standardized Exit Exams.
These exams are complex, but they often share many features.
Thus, it is never too early in the semester or even the school year to have Mr. English prepare your student for an Exit Exam, either Written or Reading.
Exam Preparation Courses can be useful, but you also need the low pupil-teacher-rate, the one-to-one insight and attention, and the e-mail/telephone feedback that Mr. English can provide.
Using materials that few other tutors have, Mr. English will teach your student to be a better reader and writer, on in-class assignments, out-of-class assignments, and on Standardized Exams.
Writing Seminars will focus on the variety of Responses most jurisdictions employ, including Form, Using Literature, Expressing Ideas, and "The Most Common Mistake Writers Make!"
Reading Seminars will focus on understanding the reading, understanding the question, understanding the options, spotting the distracter, and using inferences and deductive reasoning.
